The City of Reidsville is one step closer to launching the city website for citizens.

Councilmembers watched a LIVE demo at their July council meeting and ultimately voted to enter into a contract with Municipal Impact.

Mayor Sydney Clifton commented that the website has been in the works since his election and he is eager to see it come to fruition.

City Administrator Kellie Murray and other employees in the City Hall administrative offices will be responsible for uploading content and maintaining the most up-to-date information.

Eventually, residents will be able to pay water bills online as well.

The website will cost the city $719.40 per year plus a one time $295 set-up fee, but Reidsville was granted a $59.95 discount due to their participation in the Rural Water Association. The total for the upcoming year will be $954.45 and renewables will be $659.45 annually.

Municode presented a bid as well, but the annual year 1 total was $6,100 and the subsequent years were $2,100, meaning Municipal Impact had the lowest bid.

The vote was unanimous.
